Rescue Mission

On the third Monday of each month, men from our church head into downtown Indianapolis to the Good News Rescue Mission. There our men conduct a worship service for the homeless. They sing the old hymns of the faith, and one of our men will open the Bible and share the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.

Outreach

The heartbeat of our church for the past 28 years has been fulfilling the Great Commission through our weekly outreach. Each Saturday morning, a group of members from our church goes door to door in our city, inviting people to church and sharing with them the life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ. One of the highlights of our outreach program each year is Seeds for Harvest where we distribute the gospel and other information about our church to 7,000 homes in our area.

AWANA

Our AWANA ministry is a classic AWANA ministry. We only use the AWANA curriculum and run our own program to suit the needs of our church. Each AWANA night focuses on the memorization and teaching of God's Word. This ministry has served as a great discipleship aid for nurturing young children in their faith at LBC for nearly 25 years.

Bus Ministry

Church busses and vans go out into Indianapolis every Sunday to bring in children, adults, and families for the church services. Many of these children are underprivileged and would otherwise have no way of knowing that God loves them. Coming to church is the highlight of the week for many of them, and our volunteers look forward to the opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life.

The purpose of the bus ministry at Lighthouse Baptist is two-fold. First, we want to see children reached with the Gospel and then trained to serve God with their lives. Jesus Christ had a special place in His heart for children, and we want to honor the Lord by loving children as well. Second, our desire is to reach not only the children but their families as well. Most of these children come from homes where God has no place. Our desire is to see these families saved, baptized, and discipled so they can stop riding the bus and start driving to church together.

If you, or someone you know, would like a ride to church on one of our buses, please call the church office at 317-359-4275 or email our bus director.

World Missions

Just before ascending back into Heaven, Jesus Christ gave to His disciples what is called the Great Commission. “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8) The disciples had been tasked with sharing the Gospel message with their own city of Jerusalem, the surrounding region, and ultimately the entire world. What an awesome privilege that was, and at the same time what an overwhelming responsibility it was as well.

That task remains the same today for believers and churches alike. For 28 years Lighthouse Baptist Church has been a beacon of hope to the people of Indianapolis, but its reach does not end there. By partnering with and supporting more than 60 missionaries and missions projects sent out by local Independent Baptist churches, Lighthouse Baptist is able to have a part in getting the gospel to more than 35 countries world-wide. These missionaries are supported financially by the faithful giving of the members of Lighthouse Baptist Church.
